Penguins, Bears, and Flowers...Oh my!

Halloween this year was a little different than what most people remember. Sure, we dressed the boys up in silly costumes and took them door to door to get some treats, but that's where the similarities end.

Due to the Trinity Girls Volleyball team making it to Regionals, on October 31st, we were in the great city of Brenham/Tomball. That right, crazy Mommy of twin 1 year olds decided to pack them up and follow the bus on the 10 hour trip. TEN HOURS! Lucky for me, Ryan was able to ride with us. And by the grace of God, we have two boys that are EXCELLENT travelers. They slept, watched their movies, and played the entire time. I honestly could kiss the person who invented portable DVD players.

The boys friend, Emerson Neal (Volleyball coach's daughter and 3 months older than the boys), road the bus. We were so glad she was along for the big trip. It was so much fun!

Back to Halloween...we dressed the kids up. Rhett was a Penguin, Deacon a Bear (not a dog), and Emerson was a beautiful Flower. Then we took the kids around the hotel and let them "trick or treat" at the girls room. The Highleys and the Neals bought snacks for the volleyball girls to hand out, but to our surprise, some them (and their parents) brought special treats for the kids. Thank you ladies and parents for loving on our kiddos.

Here are some pictures from our night of Trick or Treating - Hotel Style.

Rhett strutting his stuff in his penguin costume.

Deacon's checking out the ladies. What a silly little bear!

All three kiddos comparing their loot. Aren't they adorable!!!

Exhibit A, B, C, D...and Z that our boys are spoiled.

Corn Maize

Saturday night we took the boys to the Corn Maize in Shallowater. It was such a perfect night. The boys loved the farm animals. I think they would love to bring home a cow.
Here are the boys riding around in their Choo-Choo Wagon. They love the thing. I think it gives them a sense of freedom that they don't get in the stroller.
Here they are chasing each other in the Kiddie Maze. You think Rhett is intimadated by his Bigger Brother? Not a chance! Look at those intense stare-down eyes.

Bye, Bye September...

September is gone! I love Fall, all the changes, and the color in the air. Here are some highlights from this month:
  1. Both boys are walking all over the place. They are starting to walk circles around us. It's hard to keep up with our active little guys, but it's so much fun.
  2. Their vocabulary is starting to take form. They will respond to us when we ask them a question (even if it doesn't make a bit of sense). They will mimick us when we say something. I love listening to them have conversations with each other. It's hilarious!
  3. We went to fair and wow, they LOVE turkey legs. I couldn't feed them fast enough. This just warms my heart. I love that my boys love the fair. We didn't ride any rides, though. Maybe next year.
  4. TEETHING! Oh how I hate molars. This has been the worst teething phase by far. I'm so glad we're almost done (with this stage, at least).

That's all I can think of for now. Have a great weekend everyone...and HAPPY FALL!

Aloha!

For the Twins' birthday we celebrated with an ammended Luau. Thanks to the recent rains, we had to move the party from our backyard oasis to the G-parents Highley indoor cabana. Thank you to everyone for being flexible and thank you for loving on our boys and spoiling them to death!
Here are some pictures to delight in...

Yep. I'm cute.

Whatcha looking at?

Thank you to Aunt Brandi for all the pictures. I was a little busy. I don't know what I would do without you and your awesome camera!

Here's a picture of the cake I made and some of the decorations.

Don't these cupcakes look great?!? Thank you Cousin Lacey for making these for our party. We're sad you weren't have to able it to the party.

Rhett figuring out the cupcake-eating part. Not quite sure.
