Happy Birthday, Twins!

It's been a few weeks, but yes, the Twins turned two on August 15th!  We had a small-ish party in Conroe with close family, my best friend & her two boys, and a coach friend of Ryan's and his wife.  

Because of the quick move, my BIG birthday plan had to be tweaked and scaled down quite a bit.  We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, I made the birthday cakes (one chocolate, one vanilla), the kids decorated party hats, and we opened presents and just played.

We were so busy preparing for the party and entertaining, that we forgot to take any pictures.  I can't believe!  Luckily Mimi had her camera and snapped a few for us to have.  

Rhett's Two-year-old milestones:

1. Favorite song: "The Wheels on the Bus"
2. Favorite toys: Monkey, Choo-Choo Train, Noah's Ark, and Books
3. He's starting to speak in 4-5 word sentences
4. Can hold a crayon perfectly and knows all the basic colors - except red.  I think he's Red colorblind to be honest.
5. Knows the "ABC Song" and is beginning to recognize his letters
6. Can count to 5 sometimes with help he can get to 10
7. Is still my OCD child.  He loves order, won't walk on lines (like on the basketball court), and  can't stand being dirty.
8. He's starting to try to dress himself and has used the potty a hand-full of times but is not interested in potty training yet.
9. He's still his momma's boy.  Gives the best kisses and is such a cuddle-bug.  
10. He loves to say the blessing at eating time and bed time.  He is such a compassionate person.  Will go to comfort you if you're upset.  He bends down and looks you in the eye and sys, "K? Momma, K?"

Deacon's Two-year-old milestones:

1. Favorite song: "The Barney Song" or "I Love You"
2. Favorite toys: Puzzles (he can actually put most of them together by themselves), Choo-Choo Train, Noah's Ark, and Handy Manny tool set
3. He's starting to speak in complete sentences (more than five words).
4. Runs EVERYWHERE with his brother following behind.  Deacon is really the leader in the relationship.
5. Sings the "ABC Song" and is beginning to recognize his letters
6. Can count to 12 by himself.  Is learning to recognize his colors but most just knows yellow and blue.
7. Will play with anybody.  He is friend to all.
8. Has used the potty several times but is not interested in telling us when he needs to go potty yet.
9. He gives the best hugs!  I mean squeeze you to death hugs.
10. He loves to hear/read about Jesus.  He carries Ryan's "Man of Prayer" and asks us to read to him.  He loves going to church.  We love that, too!
